About

The Fingertip Pulse Oximeter is used to detect the blood oxygen saturation and pulse rate of the human body. This product is based on digital blood oxygen technology and uses an advanced DSP algorithm to reduce the effects of motion artifacts and improve the measurement accuracy under weak perfusion. A pulse oximeter is a single data point of your health. If your oxygen saturation numbers look okay, you should still seek medical attention if you have other symptoms, such as high temperature, shortness of breath, headache or persistent cough. This list does not include all possible symptoms.

Correct usage is key to a trustworthy reading:

  • Use in a rested sitting position
  • Ensure the device is properly positioned on your finger
  • Take into account that you may be living at altitude
  • Artificial nails and nail polish, especially gel-based, can produce inaccurate measurements
  • Cold hands or poor circulation can also interfere with the light and produce false numbers
  • Check to see that you are not accidentally reading the numbers upside down if you are getting a strange reading
  • 95% to 100% is an acceptable saturation range. If the number drops to 92% or lower, that’s a cause for concern.
  • People at high altitudes might have levels in the low 90s and still be fine.
