'Blue Suede Shoes'
The song made famous by Elvis was originally written and recorded by a guy named Carl Perkins.
As the story goes, Johnny Cash (the man himself) told Carl Perkins about an army man who referred to his black army issue shoes as his 'blue suede shoes'.
Cash: "You should totally write a song about that."
Perkins: "I don't know anything about this guy or his shoes, but cool story, bro."
Some time later Perkins is at a dance, and hears a man telling his friends not to step on his 'suedes'. Inspired by the coincidence, Perkins wrote the song that same night.
...and now you know a bit more about the song that always gets stuck in your head whenever you see a pair of suede shoes.
