About
Topiary Wine Estate in Franschhoek was originally a fruit farm called La Tramontane until 2005 when the previous owner built a cellar and a tasting room and launched Topiary. In August 2014, acclaimed Burgundy producer Philippe Colin (also one of the guardians of the famous Colin-Deléger vineyards in Chassagne-Montrachet) became enchanted with the 64-hectare farm and purchased the estate.
Product Features
- Grapes are handpicked early in the morning and 1 week before other grapes for lower sugar and higher acidity.
- Bunches are immediately whole pressed and the juice fermented in stainless steel.
- After 8 months in the tank the wine is racked, filtered, fined and cold stabilized before bottling.
- Fresh and dry nose but with some complexity. Notes of cranberry and raspberry. The palate is soft and delicate.
