This is one for the wine aficionado, the pinot noir explorer, one who is looking for something unique and which you may have never tried before. The estate owner has put his lifelong interest in food and wine into a wonderful expression of this Elgin Pinot Noir. Mantessa is a wine which you will struggle to get your hands on and because of it's drinkability, a wine which you will struggle to keep in your cellar. Only 650 bottles of the 2016 and 820 bottles of 2017 were produced.
Product Features
2016: Leaning more on the side of your earthy, traditional pinot noir, this clean, lightly pressed wine is wonderfully balanced. It's ready to drink but most certainly has the potential to sit for another few years. Hints of cherries and candied strawberry with a slightly savoury, dry finish.
2017: A typical Elgin Pinot Noir with a more vibrant, fruity palate. Wonderful acidity which has the ability to age for another 3 years. A slightly more spicy, fuller wine but there is a golden thread of cherries evident in both vintages.
