About

Opstal Estate’s rich history dates back to 1847 when JC Rossouw acquired the farm De Opstal bij de Fonteine. Just over a century later in 1950, 4th generation Carl Everson decided to continue making his own wine instead of joining the local co-operative winery like many other producers. Today, Opstal has a wide range of quality estate wines under three different labels: The fun, easy-drinking and pocket-friendly Sixpence Range; the classical and food-friendly Estate Range; and the premium Heritage Range.

Product Features
  •  This is a new addition to our Heritage Range and the Carl Everson label, and in fact, a further emphasis on our focus on Chenin blanc as this is a Chenin based blend.
  • The idea behind this wine is to use the cultivars we grow on the farm in conjunction with Chenin as the backbone to show off the sexiness and fruit purity of our Slanghoek Valley terroir.
  • the Roussanne provides the linear direction while the Semillon, Viognier and Colombard sit pretty to claim all the attention.
Product Specifications
  • Blend: 34% Chenin blanc, 32% Roussanne, 18% Sémillon, 11% Viognier, 5% Colombard
  • Region: Slanghoek Valley
  • ABV: 13%

We'd bet anything that the poncho was designed by a man

And you know how we know this?

Simple: it's simple. Cut a hole in a piece of fabric and call it a day simple.

The poncho is the clothing equivalent of the Japanese flag. If we were to list step-by-step instructions on how to make one yourself, there'd be no Step Two.

If you're wondering how this ties into today's deals, it doesn't. These are just the things we think about when we're tasked with writing blurbs but we're completely out of inspiration.
