About

Between two mighty oceans on the southern tip of Africa lies the historic Saxenburg Wine Farm. Here memory and the seasons conspire with the cellarmaster’s craft to produce unique wines of consistent and exceptional quality. For centuries wayfarers bound for the East Indies found hospitality and relief at the Fairest Cape. At Saxenburg we extend this tradition and invite you to visit our world.

Product Features
  • The best parcels of each block was picked at phenolic ripeness and then fermented separately in open-top tanks.
  • A combination of punch-downs and pump-overs were used to ensure optimal extraction.
  • The wine was left on the skins for an additional 2-3 weeks after fermentation.
  • Malolactic fermentation occurred naturally.
  • 300-litre French oak barrels of which 40% was new, 40% 2nd fill and 20% 3rd fill.
  • 12 Months on wood
  • A very moderate and dry summer ensured that the 2015 vintage will go down as one of the best in history. It yielded wines with great intensity, refined structure and beautiful purity. This wine has enticing aromas of blackcurrant, tobacco and tomato leaves that are complemented by a fine, but dense tannin structure.

Dreams are weird

They're like your brain's way of saying: you know what the world really needs? Nonsensical story lines that nobody questions and flying cars.

And even though we know they're absolutely bonkers and possess zero relevance whatsoever, we waste no time telling people all about them.

Sad fact: nobody wants to hear it. There is only one dream worth talking about, and that's Martin Luther King Jr's.

Anyhoo, last night we had a dream where we featured half off tickets to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers live at the Department of Home Affairs. They weren't even performing. They just worked there. Crazy, huh?
