About

Christoffel Hazenwinkel is Hazendal’s easy-drinking wine range that pays tribute to the farm’s first owner. His entrepreneurial spirit that has characterised the farm from the start saw Hazendal transition from grain and cattle to becoming one of the first independent wine producers in this famed region. The Bottelary Hills are extremely diverse in terms of terroir. A wide variety of different aspects, elevation above sea level, soils, and the influence of both the False Bay to the south and the cold Atlantic in the west make for a very intricate array of micro-climates, resulting in premium wines with a sense of place.

Product Features

  • Colour: Lemon green.
  • Aroma: An easy-drinking wine made for everyday enjoyment. Cape gooseberry and pear are supported by subtle hints of freshly cut grass and ruby grapefruit. Ample notes of green melon.
  • Palate: A medium-bodied wine with refreshing acidity. The fine and creamy texture ensures an enduring and clean finish, while green melon and grapefruit follow through to the palate.
  • Food pairing: Seafood, summer salads and soft white cheeses, such as brie.

Product Specifications

  • Blend: 34% Chenin Blanc; 29% Sémillon; 25% Sauvignon Blanc and 12% Chardonnay.
  • ABV: 13%
  • Region: Bottelary, Stellenbosch

Humble bragging. How is this still a thing?

You know the type. They'll say something along the lines of "I really miss my old Chevy Spark. This Audi SUV is so much harder to park."

Rest assured they don't miss that Chevy AT ALL. They just want you to know that they spent truckloads of cash on the latest Audi, but they want to come across as really casual because somehow that makes them cooler. Or something.

You'd think the complete lack of any complimentary responses would put an end to this type of self-appreciation, but if anything it's happening more and more.

We'd love to come up with an effective solution to it but we're waaay too busy running a successful eCommerce company to actually invest the time.

Did you know we're also getting our PhDs on the side? No big deal.
