About

Hartenberg is nestled in a valley on the free-draining, north-eastern slopes of the Bottelary Hills. Vineyards face north, west, and east, with varietals planted to take advantage of either morning or afternoon sun. There is a difference in altitude of some 250 meters between the northern and southern vineyards.

Product Features
  • Our Doorkeeper range of wines features the iconic handle and key to our underground cellar and represents the entrance into the world of Hartenberg wines.
  • The wines are created to be easy drinking and suitable for everyday enjoyment, whilst still providing the quality that you have come to expect from Hartenberg Estate.
  • Spicy, perfumed elegant red. Silky and easy on the palate.
  • Almost equal portions of each of the varieties. All the grapes are from Hartenberg itself. The Grenache imparts strawberry-like bouquet and fresh, vibrant fruit on the palate. The Mourvèdre provides a beguiling silky mouth feel whilst the Shiraz gives some structure.

Dreams are weird

They're like your brain's way of saying: you know what the world really needs? Nonsensical story lines that nobody questions and flying cars.

And even though we know they're absolutely bonkers and possess zero relevance whatsoever, we waste no time telling people all about them.

Sad fact: nobody wants to hear it. There is only one dream worth talking about, and that's Martin Luther King Jr's.

Anyhoo, last night we had a dream where we featured half off tickets to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers live at the Department of Home Affairs. They weren't even performing. They just worked there. Crazy, huh?
