Bergsig Estate is situated in one of South Africa’s most picturesque wine valleys: the Breedekloof Wine Valley. Situated at the foot of two big mountain ranges - the Drakenstein and the Hex River Mountains - our vines are fed by water accumulated from mountain streams which can run throughout summer, as these mountains are often snow-capped in winter, storing a life source until the sun melts it into much-needed water for our grapes The wine shows typical characteristics of a slow ripening area. Full ripe, complex wine with elegance. Good balance between fruit, creamy butterscotch and spicy oak.

- Picked at full ripeness during March 2018.
- Only free running juice was used. Settled at 10°C and transferred to 300 Litre 1st, 2nd and 3rd fill barrels for fermentation.
- Barrel matured for 6 months before bottling.
- Good balance between fruit, creamy butterscotch and spicy oak.

Anyhoo, last night we had a dream where we featured half off tickets to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers live at the Department of Home Affairs. They weren't even performing. They just worked there. Crazy, huh?
